EASY MONOGRAMMED GIFTS: FABRIC PUMPKINS

I grabbed a whole gaggle of these mini fabric pumpkins from Hobby Lobby to have on hand as hostess or thank you gifts. They would also make AMAZING place settings for your Thanksgiving table – looks like I better go back and grab some more! These pumpkins were also a great way to use my scraps of iron-on. Smaller projects mean smaller amounts of material which means I can use up what I already have. Winning!

TUTORIAL: HOW TO MAKE MONOGRAMMED FABRIC PUMPKIN GIFTS

Measure the area where you will be adding your monogram. Select an initial in Cricut Design Space and resize to fit.

Cut your initial from iron-on. Be sure to mirror your image and put the iron-on shiny side down on the mat!

Remove excess iron-on and weed out any iron-on from the initial.

Power on Cricut EasyPress Mini. I used the Cricut Heat Guide to determine my temperature (medium). When the indicator is green the Mini is ready to use!

Preheat the pumpkin for 5 seconds.

Add iron-on to surface liner side up.

Use EasyPress Mini to adhere iron-on. I did it in two sections so I could hold the liner still without using heat tape.

Remove liner while still warm. The very tip of my letter hadn’t fully adhered – thanks to the pointed tip of the Mini I was able to add heat to just the edge!

I have several sizes of the Cricut EasyPress and the Mini might be my all time favorite. There is no way I would have been able to add a monogram to something so small (and not flat!) without worrying about burning myself or the placement of the iron-on being wrong or uneven. There are so many possibilities with this handy little tool – from home decor to hats and shoes to gift ideas and more!
